Have developed 2 graduate level math courses that focus on mathematics teaching and learning for PreK/Kindergarten and 1st/2nd grade teachers, and we will have utilized both courses at least twice, reaching at least 10 pre-service teachers.

Is there anything else you intend to do to maximize your impact via the network?

We are aware that graduate coursework is expensive and teachers have to be highly motivated to complete a degree with specialization. For this reason, we will also offer the 5 courses focused on STEM topics as a separate, less expensive certificate.

Challenges this organization is addressing:

• perception that STEM teaching is an intellectually rigorous career
• opportunities for elementary teachers to specialize in STEM
• perception that STEM teaching is for people of any gender
