Support over 300 Maine teachers annually through a combination of institutes, online learning, and 7 regional learning communities composed of rural teachers who are committed to delivering authentic science learning experiences in their classrooms. These communities will provide teachers time for collaboration and be a conduit to flow resources for excellent STEM instruction into rural Maine.

Collaborate to launch resources and experiences, for both students and teachers, that highlight the STEM careers involved in the growing aquaculture industry in Maine.

Convene stakeholders in districts served by RTCs to collaborate to sustain and evolve the model to meet local needs and constraints.

Convene key statewide organizations to collaborate in answering the needs of rural regions as articulated through collaboration with stakeholders in those regions.

Challenges this organization is addressing:

• school leaders allocating resources for STEM PD for elementary teachers
• visibility of STEM jobs in rural communities
• opportunities for teachers in rural communities to access STEM instructional support
