Help school systems improve their capacity to advance their science programs by supporting high-quality science instruction through the design and implementation of high-quality K-12 instructional materials, through the design and facilitation of professional learning for school system leaders and for teachers, and by increasing the numbers of teachers who use and benefit from these curricular and professional development offerings.

Is there anything else you intend to do to maximize your impact via the network?

Support building district-wide capacity for improving the quantity and quality of K-12 science instruction through the development of capacities (e.g., vision, communication, use of data, leadership, curriculum, professional learning, policies and priorities, leveraging of contextual conditions outside the district), work environments, and organizational arrangements (e.g. time for collaborative work) that support organizational and systems change.

Challenges this organization is addressing:

• resources for teachers to integrate science into instruction
• PD opportunities for STEM mentor teachers
• school leaders that provide teacher leadership opportunities
