By 2021, we will...

Incorporate 4 science writing modules into NWP's Community, College, Career Writers Program (C3WP), making them available to rural districts participating in that program.

Present C3WP Writing Arguments from Scientific Evidence at a Rural Sites C3WP Conference for leaders from up to 60 writing project sites around the country.

Partner with the Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) to design and implement a professional development program that supports teachers to teach students to write arguments from scientific evidence and we will develop a publication platform and peer review process that will allow students to publish journal articles about local science issues they have researched.

Is there anything else you intend to do to maximize your impact via the network?

Develop C3WP into a networked improvement community (NIC), allowing us to continually adapt the work with input from practitioners and to develop modules beyond the original four.

Partner with other professional development providers and offer them the opportunity to also present work on teaching science at this conference.

Coordinate with a growing number of districts who would be interested in participating in our efforts to publish a student science journal.
