By 2021, we will...

Have reached over 2500 teachers across Pennsylvania and nationally to infuse best science and engineering practices into their curriculum. We are aiming to reach 63 specific school districts in our Central PA Ecosystem, ENGINE of Central PA by the following: teachers attending and actively utilizing our professional development offerings, teachers participating in industry or academic research experiences, students engaging in STEM based challenges, and/or school systems developing stronger partnerships due to networking events to build relationships with other community organizations.

Is there anything else you intend to do to maximize your impact via the network?

The Penn State Center for Science and the Schools will align professional development experiences for our educators to meet their needs and goals in their school systems. We are also preparing follow up support to educators to maximize the ability for students to engage with real world STEM research and STEM careers.

Challenges this organization is addressing:

• the number of high-quality PD opportunities for STEM teachers
• PD opportunities on active STEM learning strategies
• opportunities for teachers in rural communities to access STEM instructional support
