By 2021, we will...

Continue to grow our cohorts of STEM and special education teachers by potentially adding a new city and growing in our current markets.

Expect to continue to recruit diverse teachers with added emphasis on recruiting and retaining teachers of color-especiallyAfrican-American teachers.

Complete a comprehensive redesign of 7 existing courses and 2 new courses for pre- and novice middle and high school STEM teachers that are framed comprehensively around culturally relevant pedagogy in mathematics and science.

Is there anything else you intend to do to maximize your impact via the network?

We know that reaching our shared goal of ensuring all kids have excellent STEM teachers requires deep thinking planning around the nature of STEM and its inquiry roots in cultural and community. Recognizing this, we intend to with STEM partners in the network to build and share best and promising practices on culturally relevant teaching mathematics and STEM.

Urban Teachers will continue to refine strategies to recruit diverse talent to the teaching profession. We will continue to work with partners in the 100kin10 Network to share best practices and do better together.
