By 2021, we will...

Revise current teacher and school STEM evaluation metrics to align with our new vision of "Great Teaching" and align our 5th-12th grade science support strategies to foster both teacher creativity and student achievement in service of one another.

Increase science teacher retention to be equal to or greater than the average teacher retention rate across all Achievement First content areas (80% or above).

Train more than 20 science leaders in best practices for aligning school-site professional development with a variety of data (student achievement, looking at student work protocols, observation walk-throughs) in order to best meet science teacher development needs.

Is there anything else you intend to do to maximize your impact via the network?

Partner with other districts, schools, and/or charter management organizations currently working to develop testing/accountability systems that promote teacher creativity in order to exchange data, lessons learned, and best practices.

Research and identify innovative bright spots for STEM teacher retention from other schools, districts, and/or charter management organizations in order to learn, adopt, and adapt the key drivers of their success.

Partner with at least one other school, district, or charter management organization, in addition to at least one STEM professional development organization, in order to share best practices in and directly support each other's professional development programming.
