By 2021, we will...

Graduate 40-50 diverse science and math teachers annually who will primarily teach in underserved communities. These teachers will be well positioned to meet the needs of diverse student populations with a strong foundation in culturally responsive teaching that is aligned with CCSS and NGSS standards based instruction.

Is there anything else you intend to do to maximize your impact via the network?

We will systematically collect, analyze, and use program to inform decisions related to improving our program as well as to improve the retention of diverse science and math teacher candidates.

We will engage our community to improve alignment around our collective vision and within the instruction program across the university and field sites where students are supervised and mentored.

Challenges this organization is addressing:

• collaboration between local districts and teacher prep programs
• equitable exposure to high-quality STEM coursework
• pre-service training for STEM teachers on culturally-relevant strategies
