By 2021, we will...
Use the unique capabilities of after-school to provide career exposure and practicum experience to at least 30 STEM teachers of color and offer professional development to 35 school-day and 150 afterschool educators to rethink how STEM is taught, make more time for high-quality learning experiences, and promote collaboration across formal and informal STEM settings.
Is there anything else you intend to do to maximize your impact via the network?
We know that ensuring all kids have excellent STEM teachers requires new approaches and collaboration within informal and formal STEM. We intend to collaborate with organizations offering complimentary professional development and seek input and program feedback from community-members and participants. Further, we seek to elevate the role afterschool educators play, and the possibilities they hold for diversifying and improving the STEM teaching field.
