Challenge Description: Many teachers, administrators, parents, and students interpret mathematics as a subject separate from STEM. This perception often results in rote math instruction (which is exacerbated by a focus on assessments), student disinterest in math, and a widespread belief that mathematics is primarily academic without “real world” application.
