Teacher Leadership

teacher autonomy to experiment with STEM strategies

Full Challenge: Autonomy for PK-12 teachers to experiment with new STEM teaching strategies.

Challenge Description: Teachers lack autonomy to experiment with new STEM teaching strategies, particularly active STEM teaching strategies, in the classroom. Active STEM learning experiences are those that enable students to construct their own understanding; build on the ideas, experiences, and questions that students bring to the classroom; are grounded in real-world problems; and engage students in hands-on and collaborative learning.
